E-sports queue up for Olympic Games program

28 September 2017

On the eve of the 5th Asian Games, which included tournaments in 4 e-sports disciplines, Vice President of the Hong Kong Olympic Committee, Kenneth Fock told about the plans to promote computer sports. Nevertheless, in the near future, the introduction of e-sports into the program of the Olympic Games is not planned.

Mr. Fock admitted that eSports has a sufficient number of qualities inherent in professional sports disciplines. He noted the important features needed: endurance, speed of reaction and, of course, teamwork.

According to the representative of the Olympic Committee, the main reason that e-sports has not yet been included in the program is a large number of applicants for a place among other kinds of sports.

Speaker of RGCongress 2017 will be an expert from Spain, Francesco Baranca (Federbet). He will talk about match-fixing in eSports and give advice on how to deal with it. You can read his interview relating to the issue here.
