Evolution Gaming to leave Latvian gambling market

07 November 2017

Swedish company Evolution Gaming, the producer of content for live casinos in Latvia, threatens to leave the country's market in 2018. The reason for this is a new taxation, which is to take effect next year.

According to the initiative, launched by Imants Paradnieks MP, each table of live casinos in Latvia will be taxed at about $ 13.5 thousand per year. Evolution Gaming is not ready to come in terms, considering the fact that the company is not providing gambling services on the territory of the country.

Evolution employees create content that is shared by third-party operators. At the same time, none of its clients is introduced into the Latvian market.

The company provides jobs for 3 thousand citizens of Latvia at the moment.
