Some bookmakers already accept Bitcoin bets, but not straightforwardly: at first, a player should exchange digital coins for a currency, chosen by the bookmaker. Therefore, the application for immediate Bitcoin betting called Sirplay has become the first of the kind.

Sirplay announced the launch of the application for cryptocurrency betting at the major gambling event ICE 2017. New software allows players to use Bitcoins at all stages, including payments for account maintenance, as well as to participate in betting.

Earlier, users could specify a Bitcoin wallet as a banking account, which they used to place bets and withdraw winnings. However, for all transactions, users had to convert the digital currency into fiat currency. According to Sirplay developers, that is a complicated and outdated method, as gambling industry cannot ignore cryptocurrencies anymore and needs to make use of their potential. Therefore, the new gambling software offers a possibility to bet on any event offered by bookmakers in Bitcoins. The mechanism is realized in a way to protect bookmakers against risks related to exchange fluctuations.
